Alana McCarthy is a versatile illustrator and graphic designer working out of downtown Toronto since 2002. Her elegant work is created digitally with Adobe Creative Suite, as well as traditionally in acrylic, watercolour and chalk. She has a strong sense of design which shows through all her work, no matter the medium.
She graduated with honours from the illustration program at Ontario College of Art and Design. Her clients have included The Wall Street Journal, Loblaws, Milk, Cadbury, Coca Cola, Scholastic, Penguin Books, and Absolut Vodka. Her award winning art has been recognized by such design annuals as Communication Arts, American Illustration and How Magazine.
She currently works as a Senior Graphic Designer for the animation company, Nelvana and on the side runs Geeky Pet. Where her funny pictures of pets in pop culture costumes has garnered the attention of Robert Downey Jr, James Gunn, The Mary Sue, I Can Haz Cheezburger and Buzzfeed.
She's always open to creative freelance projects.
